Declutter Your Digital Life: Tech Tips from My Latest TODAY Show TV Segment

Is your phone overloaded with photos? Struggling to manage hundreds of passwords or losing track of subscriptions? You’re not alone. In a recent TV segment, I broke down simple yet effective ways to declutter your digital life!

Let’s dive in [or watch the full segment here!]

1. Update & Manage Your Passwords
The most common passwords are still “123456” and “password.” I attend cybersecurity conferences all the time, and this is still the number one cause of identity theft and fraud.

Hidden feature you probably didn’t know about:

If you have an iPhone, go to Settings > Passwords. Apple has a built-in password manager that will:

  • Show you all saved accounts and logins

  • Alert you to compromised or reused passwords

  • Suggest stronger alternatives

Prefer not to store passwords online?
Check out Password Safe, a no-wifi, PIN-protected device that stores your logins offline. It auto-locks after 30 minutes or five failed attempts and is perfect for those who want total control and privacy.

2. Review Your Subscriptions

Are you paying for services you forgot about? Its not just you! The average person spends over $1,000 per year on subscriptions.
Quick tip for iPhone users:

  • Go to Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions

  • You’ll see a full list of active and expired subscriptions

  • Cancel with one tap

Whether it’s a forgotten 7-day trial or an old app you haven’t used in months, it adds up fast. Set  reminder to review your subscriptions every few months to stay on top of your budget.

3. Free Up Space and Manage Storage

If your phone feels sluggish or you’re constantly getting “Storage Full” messages—it’s time to do some cleaning up!

How to check your storage:

  • Settings > General > iPhone Storage

Chances are, photos and videos are taking up the most space. I recommend two smart solutions:

Slidebox – A swipe-to-delete photo organizer that makes cleanup easy and even kind of fun. Sort by album or month and watch your storage space open up.

SanDisk iXpand Drives – These compact external drives plug directly into your phone via Lightning or USB-C. The latest MagSafe-compatible model lets you save files straight to the drive—so your phon stays clutter-free from the start.

Digital clutter doesn’t just slow down your phone—it can drain your wallet, weaken your security, and add unnecessary stress. With just a few minutes a week, these tech tips can help you stay organized, protected, and in control of your digital life.
